Administrative divisions of Costa Rica
The territorial division of Costa Rica includes seven provinces (San José, Alajuela, Cartago, Guanacaste, Heredia, Limón, and Puntarenas) subdivided in 81 counties and these, as well, in 463 districts.
San José: It is the province that contains the capital and the city of Costa Rica, is located in the Central Valley and is surrounded by fertile mountains, volcanoes and earth. It limits the north with Heredia and Alajuela, the east with Cartago and Limon, to the west and the south with Puntarenas.
