Costa Rica Geography

Costa Rica is located in the middle of the narrow isthmus of southern Central America, sharing border with Nicaragua and Panama. It has an area of 51,000 square kilometers; from the northwest to the south east have 484 kilometers, and to the Pacific Ocean to Caribbean Sea have 119 kilometers. Mountain ranges in Costa Rica

The territory is crossed by a series of volcanic mountain ranges such as the "Cordillera Volcánica de Guanacaste", the "Cordillera Volcánica Central" and the "Cordillera de Talamanca".

The higher mountainous formation corresponds to the Chirripó Hill, with 3,820 meters of altitude.
